An orthodontic showcase of all the phases in a young girl from early childhood to teen age. Early intervention, non-extraction orthodontics, and jaw-orthopedics are important concepts in biological dentistry and orthodontics. See details of Front Incisor Tooth Crossbites.
This video showcases the different phases of the jaw-orthopedic and orthodontic journey of a young girl. In adhering to a progressive and biological non-extraction philosophy, different strategies are shown, starting from appliances, then partial braces, and finishing up with full braces. Her beautiful smile ultimately becomes an object of envy and a source of pride.
After four months of healing, Dr. Sarkissian proceeds to restore a Z-Systems zirconia metal-free implant. The abutment is a cementable system and the gums are contoured with the Waterlase to expose the margins and to create an emergence profile. The Cerec is used to scan the abutment and to fabricate an Emax porcelain crown.
Dr. Joseph Sarkissian is performing a root canal and a simultaneous apicectomy (removing the tip of the infected root) on a patient using the Waterlase laser from Biolase. After accessing the canal under the rubber dam, the root canal was initiated and enlarged to the approximate length on the CBCT. The apicectomy was started right after. The laser was used right before obturating with biocompatible endosequence bioceramic. All the steps are clearly shown in this video.
Dr. Joseph Sarkissian performs a laser filling for a chipped lower incisor with the use of the Waterlase. The patient was very pleased that she did not have to endure a shot as it was a pain-free procedure. She is content with the result and her smile was huge afterward! Bonding forces are much stronger after using a laser compared to the surface created by a drill. Using the laser always follows minimally invasive protocols in various aspects of dentistry.
Dr. Joseph Sarkissian initiates a young girl and explains the effects of the Waterlase before a laser tooth filling. The brave girl did not receive a shot despite the fact that the cavity was very deep. Sometimes holding a healing crystal provides good, calming energy! After the procedure, as a reward for her courageous nature, she received a special gift, a notebook designed by Arpi Krikorian.
Dr. Joseph Sarkissian extracts a premolar and surgically implants a metal-free zirconia ceramic implant by the Swiss-manufactured Z-Systems. The socket was thoroughly debrided, and irrigated with ozonated saline, followed by PRP liquid and ozone gas. PRF was harvested from the patient’s own blood to fill in the void within the socket after placement of the implant. After 5 months of healing, the abutment was cemented, the margins were exposed using the Waterlase laser, and the crown was fabricated on the same day using the Cerec unit by Sirona®. On a two-year recall, the adjacent premolar was vital and the gums were healthy.
Benefits of the Waterlase dental laser – how it has transformed Dr. Sarkissian’s dental practice and enables him to provide gentler and minimally invasive dentistry. He explains how this laser reduces pain and discomfort and promotes faster healing. He demonstrates its use in the various areas of dentistry and how it causes less fear and has high acceptance by patients.
Laser Direct Cap – Dr. Sarkissian shows all the steps in performing the laser direct cap on a tooth that has very deep decay and minimizing the risk of a root canal.
A same-day bonded Maryland-style bridge to replace a missing tooth on an older lady. Dr. Sarkissian showcases all of the steps using fiberglass strips and various shades of composite to make the tooth look as realistic as possible.
Dr Joseph Sarkissian performs a laser apicectomy (Root Tip Removal) on an upper incisor, using the Waterlase iPlus by Biolase. This involves surgically cutting off the infected tip of a root canal tooth, using the laser, as well as capping and sealing it with biocompatible materials.
Placing four Z-Systems Zirconia ceramic metal-free dental implants in an older lady to free her from her lower partial denture. Dr. Sarkissian showcases the whole protocol from start to finish, including planning, surgery, exposure using the Waterlase iPlus laser, cementing abutments, and finally fabricating the crowns using CEREC same-day digital technology, all the time giving valuable tips.
After healing for a few months, a Zeramex XT metal-free dental implant on a young gentleman is exposed with the Waterlase iPlus laser, an abutment is affixed, and is restored with a Cerec crown, all in the same day.
A Swiss-manufactured Zeramex Zirconia metal-free ceramic dental implant is placed on this patient. At the same time, two failing root-canaled teeth are extracted, the sockets cleaned, and grafting is performed using PRF, an extract of his own blood.
A full-length laser apicectomy (Root Amputation) on an infected tooth with live surgery, illustrations, Waterlase iPlus setup instructions, demo on live teeth, and root canal retreat with biocompatible materials. Dr. Sarkissian provides many tips and clinical guidelines and showcases the benefits of laser dentistry. All illustrations and footage are by Dr. Sarkissian.
This is a brief introduction to the benefits of zinc as a supplement during infection by the common cold and the flu, particularly COVID-19. Dr. Sarkissian briefly explains the role of zinc as an essential trace mineral, a co-factor in scores of enzymes in our bodies, and how it is usually displaced by mercury. He also touches upon some research articles proving the efficacy of zinc in mitigating the course of the cold and the flu, and how it shortens their duration. Zinc lozenges have been a hot subject during the coronavirus pandemic, and it deserves some attention.
Sedation on a Child for Dental Treatment – A showcase of the sedation experience of a young child to have major dental work done in our dental office. Dr. Salman Hussain is the child anesthesiologist providing his services.
In an interview by Jesse Golden of The Golden Secret, Dr. Sarkissian explains what holistic or biological dentistry is and how it’s different from allopathic dentistry.
Children’s Dentistry with Sedation: The parents of this adorable little girl had to come halfway across California to find a dentist who shared their concern for the health of their daughter. They did not want mercury and other metals planted into their kid, even in baby teeth that will eventually fall out. They understood, as does Dr. Sarkissian, that the early formative years are most important for the future health of their child.
Children’s dentistry: Making a baby tooth extraction fun and distracting a young girl to overcome her fears. We use the honest approach in giving the shot, a shark fossil tooth is employed in some silly scene, and eventually, the child holds the forceps herself and is guided to extract her own tooth.

Introduction to Laser Dentistry
Talking of a bite registration and impression in preparation for a jaw orthopedic appliance. Laramie has his two younger siblings with him so they can learn how all this works.
Celeste gets her new orthopedic jaw appliance. Dr. Sarkissian instructs her on how to place the appliance and how to take care of it. This video could be used as a tutorial for children who are due to receive an appliance, on what to expect, before the actual appointment.
The tight ligament that attaches the upper lip to the gums is called the labial frenum and should be attached at least 4 mm above the gum crest of the front teeth and should not limit lip movements. The laser allows for correcting a frenum that is attached too low.
How to handle an extra tooth – Dr. Sarkissian demonstrates in this case study how to handle an extra tooth of a young girl. Before extracting this supernumerary first the arch is developed to a width that will offer enough space for all teeth.
Laser Fissure Composite With Waterlase – Demonstrates the use of the Waterlase to clean out cavities in tooth fissures. Dr. Sarkissian advocates minimally invasive techniques and encourages early treatment of cavities before they grow and weaken the tooth structure. The Waterlase and iPlus by Biolase are perfect instruments of modern dental technology that have transformed the profession of dentistry and launched it into the future.
